Visiting Our Nation’s Capital
Our family has had the opportunity to visit our nation's capital this October.  What an amazing opportunity it has been to see the homes of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison.  As a nation there is so much to be proud of and so many amazing challenges that have been met and overcome.  When I think how far we have come as a nation I am overcome with the ingenuity, perseverance and creativity of those who have come before us.

Back to School and Back to Routines
I don't know if there is anyone else out there like me, but going back to school is a real love/hate thing for me.  The older my daughter get's the more I enjoy "hanging" out with her.  We actually enjoy going to some of the same movies now, we can shoe shop together and pretty soon we'll be stealing things out of eachother's closets (oh rue the day!).  So sending her back to school seems to get harder for me every year.

Adventures in Tires
My daughter and I are getting ready to go on our annual "Thelma and Louise" trip this summer.  Basically that means that it's just she and I taking a long road trip to somewhere while Jason stays home and minds the fort.  We always look forward to taking this trip together, not only because it gets us out of the Arizona heat for a few days, but because it gives us a long stretch of time to talk and just be together.  This year in preparation for our road trip, I had to get a few items taken care of on my car.  What started as a "check right rear tire pressure" light, ended as a mad scramble to get my car in order to go on this trip.

Thinking of Fathers

Fathers have been on my mind the last few days (the holiday that just passed is the obvious reason) and so I'd like to take a few minutes in my blog today to remember the fathers.  Some fathers are talented in fixing things (take my husband for example) and other fathers are smart enough to know when it is time to hire someone else to take care of the problem for them (take my own father for example)...
