When my husband initially brought to me the idea about installing cameras on the exterior of our home I was less than excited about it. After all investing the money in cameras when we had a security system seemed to me a waste of money. We live in a safe family oriented area of the valley with newer homes so to me there was no need for cameras. But, after some discussion I agreed to have two cameras installed on the exterior of our home.
 
A few months after the cameras were installed a neighbor came to our home to inquire if we had seen anything suspicious around their home that day. I hadn't noticed anything out of the ordinary and the neighbor explained they had been broken into. They arrived home that day to find their home had been vandalized and several items from the home were missing. I felt badly for their loss but again I didn't see anything, or did I?
 
When my husband arrived home from work I shared with him what had taken place across the street. His first comment was "did you view the video form the cameras?" I hadn't even thought of the idea! So, we quickly went to the television where we were able to easily review the cameras recordings from that day and time. To our surprise we were able to clearly see the perpetrators, their car and their means of entry into the home. We were able to take that recorded and put it on a thumb drive and provide it to the local Sheriffs department.
 
I never thought that the simple installation of cameras on our home would be of benefit to anyone other than us. What a great investment for not only us but the safety and security of our neighborhood. The cameras we have installed are indiscreet and blend in with our homes exterior. They record motion with in a designated area and have excellent clarity at night as well. They record to a simple hard-drive and can be viewed easily on our televisions in the home and over the internet. Having the cameras gives me peace of mind and comfort in knowing an extra set of eyes protect our home at all times.
