How do I reset my Internet connection?
- Unplug your cable or DSL modem.
- Unplug your Internet router. This is the device that is connected to your cable or DSL modem with a single computer network cable.
- Leave both devices unplugged for about 30 seconds.
- Plug the cable or DSL modem back in. Wait for the indicator light labeled “Internet” to illuminate. This usually takes about 30 to 60 seconds.
- Once the “Internet” indicator is illuminated go ahead and plug-in the Internet router.
- Check you Internet connection at your computer by opening a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, and browsing to any web site.
- If you can open web pages you have successfully reset your Internet connection.
- If you are unable to open web pages reboot your computer and try again.
